Santa Sleigh Success
Lowestoft East Point Rotary Club would like to take the opportunity to thank all the people who came out and supported our efforts with the Santa Sleigh in the run up to Christmas. Seeing the smiling faces of the small children was priceless.
The generosity of the people of Lowestoft never ceases to amaze especially in such challenging economic times.
A sum of in the region of £5,650 was raised which is fantastic and the Club will benefit from a further 25% Gift Aid under the small donations scheme.
As well as East Point Rotary Club members, families and friends, we would like to acknowledge the support of Mitchells Garage, who once again helped to ensure the Sleigh was roadworthy and provided a shelter for the Sleigh between outings;
BSA Security and Fire who provided us with a vehicle (Rudolph) to tow the Sleigh; Bookers who helped with some complimentary sweets; volunteers from Phoenix St Peter Primary Academy, the Ramblers and the staff of Ashby House who all helped by acting as Bucket Collectors.
A good proportion of the funds raised from our Sleigh will be spent locally, either in and around Lowestoft, or, supporting support services across our local region.
In 2024, this included the Samaritans, the Waveney Hygiene Bank, Coats 4 Kids, East Anglian Children’s Hospice and Dictionaries for Life.
We are always on the lookout for people to support our Santa Sleigh, so, should you wish to donate a few hours of voluntary time in December 2025 please let us know. You can contact club President Paul on paul.wilk53@btinternet.com.
